LIVER CLEANSE DIET FOR 4 DAYS

Using a natural liver cleansing diet to remove toxins and poisons from your body might sound like a good idea. I started my diet this morning and will share during the four days how I am feeling along the days. After all this nice French country life with good healthy food, but also some wine, I felt I needed to cleanse my liver. Normally I take warm lemon water in the mornings into the empty stomach and that helps to clean the liver and beetroot and carrot juice daily is excellent for the liver and kidneys. You can also find my complete Detox program on www.souljoysc.com that also includes the Soul Coaching© program.
Certainly, you will find the way to take care of your liver. The rising interest in lifestyle enhancement has also ushered in many misconceptions about toxins and about the best way to clear them from the body. Fueling the confusion is a major marketing for special books and producers of supplements and other detoxifying products. The best natural way to do this and still gentle as well is a 4 days apple/lemon juice and olive oil diet.  It will take you for days, but by following me here while I am doing my own liver cleanse will help you to understand what it takes. I will keep a short diary during these days.

Most natural liver detox diets have little science supporting them but they seem to work very well. Additionally, detox diets are very restrictive and can cause harm if they're not used with care. In my Your Second Spring program you will find a 28 days long detox program where you purify your body and organs by eating healthy fresh food. www.souljoysc.com This is what you need to know before starting any liver cleansing diets on your own.
Toxins are constantly bombarding our bodies. Toxins are chemicals with potentially harmful effects. While some toxins are more obvious, such as pesticides or smog, some people consider even seemingly normal substances to be toxins. They may come from many sources, including:
food additives (the E numbers)
junk food
alcohol
caffeine

medications

pesticides or other chemicals used to grow or prepare food

smog or other substances in the air

artificial sweeteners added to food

refined sugar

impure water

I started myself today a liver cleanse program that you can also easily do at your own time. During these four days I will write down a short diary about how I am feeling each days.

For this liver cleanse you need:

Plenty organic apples, lemons and some good quality olive oil.
During first 3 days you just drink apple juice that you should press yourself from organic apples. You can't drink any coffee or black tea, but herbal teas are excellent for this type of cleanse. Drink lot of water  as well during these four days.
On the fourth day mix half a glass of olive oil with half a glass of lemon juice and drink that slowly in the morning. This mixture starts to cleanse your liver and you might need to go to the toilet quite often so make sure that you stay at home during this day.

This liver cleanse diet will help you to get rid of liver stones if you have any.
I am a real stone collector. When I was twenty I had kidney stones or actually it was more like sand, but still very painful. About ten years ago I got really ill, first the doctor told me that I had a terrible stomach flu with headache, fever and vomiting. But me having fever was not normal, and actually few days later I was admitted to the hospital and for 3 days I went through so many tests and nothing until on the sonar they found that I had a gallbladder stone and that my gallbladder was infected. So I had to have an operation and they removed my gallbladder, since that I am more fragile and I must be careful not to eat too much food that contains animal fat, because the bile helps your digestion to brake down the fat. So I am looking after my liver, even I am also enjoying life with good and taste but healthy food and I also enjoy wine. I have also notice that when getting older and if I get one or two extra kilos, it's much more difficult to get rid of them. So this liver cleanse will help you to clean your liver but also your liver then helps you better to loose weight.

First day

Today is monday and during the weekend I took a decision that I need a liver cleanse. I have few kilos to loose and this last six month has been hectic while living in French country side renovating an ancient farm house. (If interested have a look www.bycause.blogspot.com).
So this morning I needed apples to start and organic off course, so luckily there were some left still on an apple tree. Our last apples. I made a half a liter juice adding lemon juice as well with my juice processor. I have been drinking herbal teas and water during the rest of the morning. When I am not eating I easily feel cold and before lunch time I had to add and extra pullover and same time I started to have a slight headache because I haven't have my morning coffee. For the lunch I made the apple/lemon juice again. I am not feeling hungry at all. Part of this whole thing is that you have to have a right mind set for keeping this diet to succeed your 4 days. I did some yoga this morning and that helps the body to detoxify. You should also have a cleansing massage like lymph drainage massage during these 4 days, at least ones. That will help you to get the toxins out of your body. I will have my massage this evening and really looking forward for that. So I will tell you more tomorrow how I am doing...

Lots of love to you all

CAN YOU SAY NO?

Small word, BIG DIFFERENCE

Saying "no" is one of the most difficult but yet liberating thing to do. Are you a people pleaser and can't ever say "no" and then you have to do things you don't even want or like. If you are feeling overstretched and overwhelmed, it's time learnt the art to say "NO"

1. Remember that your desire to please may be linked to poor self-esteem. Consider why other people's requests always take preference over your own needs.

2.When you asked to do something, check in with yourself before answering. Ask yourself why you feel obligated to say "yes".

3. Lighten up. Saying no doesn't have to  be serious, when nobody asks you to do something that you don't want, answer to that person with laughter that, "sorry you have your skydiving course today". Laughter can diffuse a difficult situation.

4. Make a list of people to whom you have most difficulty to say "no". When confronted with one of them, try a little honesty. Explain you have been saying "yes" more often that you'd like, and that you are starting to feel a little resentful. Detail your reasons: "I feel guilty when I say "no" to your constant requests for loans. But I am a little cash-trapped myself right now".

5. Remind yourself of the worst that can happen. People might react negatively at first, but in time they will have greater respect for the clear boundaries you have established with them.

6. If your family, friends and colleges are used to you always saying "yes", they will use that every time they need something. So learn to be firm towards them and with yourself as well. Often we think that we will say "no" to something but ones in front of that person we say "yes" and why is that... What are you afraid of.  Stand up for yourself and say "no" when you want to, don't be a people pleaser. You will gain others respect sooner or later and be an example for others too, by daring to say "no".

If you think that you need to boost your self-esteem and get less fearless and gain more self-confidence and courage, then you need my Your Second Spring program to help you. It will take you in to a voyage to meet yourself and learn your full potential and you will say YES to life.  Go on my website for more details,

GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY...

The spring is here... it is time to get your hands dirty and start a small garden...It is an antidote for stress as well. A little water, some fresh air, seeds and sunlight. That's all it takes to create a restorative refuge from life's demands.
Like I mentioned gardening is the perfect antidote to stressful life. It teaches you patience, encourages optimism and, when our efforts pay off, rewards us with unexpected delight. Just 20 to 30 minutes spent pottering can restore your spirits and bring an element of calm and satisfaction to your day. And best news is you don't have to be an expert to grow you own health-giving herds.

Where to plant
Herbs love sunny spots where they aren't exposed to too much wind. A sheltered patch  of 2m x 1m on sunny side of the wall, for the urban living you can use the balcony, but if you are pressed with space, herbs also flourish  in window boxes and pots.

What to plant
What are your favorite herbs and which ones you use the most when cooking? Parsley, mint, basilica, rosemary, lemon balm, coriander, lavender, camomile etc. Or try other ones, you can make one pot for your culinary use, one medicinal, one aromatic and one for flowering.

How to plant
If you don't have any pots, go to a nursery shop, where you can also find your seeds or small plants that you can replant. Buy pots that have a whole in the bottom and if you keep your pots in your balcony or inside get a plate under the pot that water does not run on the floor. On the bottom of your pots and containers put some stones or gravel and then good quality soil to ensure adequate drainage. Herbs grow best on a slightly alkaline soil, so if you think your soil is too acidic, neutralize it with some lime juice. If you are planting a bed, place large perennials for a screen. Plant annuals and low-growing herbs in the front, along with those you are likely to pick most regularly. Newly planted herbs needs lots of water, but ones they are established, they are naturally drought resistant. Water when the top 3cm of soil is dry to the touch.

Caring for your plants
Fertilise your plants ones a month. Ask some advice from your nursery but use only organic fertilizers.
Picking and using your herbs often means pruning time is greatly reduced.

7 WAYS RESTORE YOUR BALANCE

Feeling weighed down?

Tip the scales back to those joyous times when life meant playgrounds, puddles and plasticine.

1. Skip Why did you ever stop?
An invigorating skip down the road has all benefits of a mini-workout with none of the seriousness.
Try it - you will exude positive energy. Hint if you are too inhibited to do it alone, take a child by the hand and skip in tandem...

2. Dance Crank up the volume and cavort. Move your body as if no one is watching. When on your own, light some candles and dance in the dark just with the candle light naked and let your body to move like you were in some kind of trans. Choose a suitable music for you, Celtic music or American Indian music can suite this type of dance. Just let go and be whole with your body, mind and soul.
Whether you are attempting the cha-cha, Swan Lake or your special version of hip-hop or Abba's Dancing Queen, you will enjoy reduced stress levels, increased energy and improved strength. Try your favorite music while cleaning your house. I always clean my house with Barry White... It makes house cleaning so much more fun...

3. Blow bubbles Experience immediate and irrational childish pleasure. No bubble mixture? No problem...Take a time for a relaxing bubble bath in the evening in your own privacy and play with bubbles like you used to do as a kid.

4. Laugh when we chuckle, our body release a cocktail of hormones and chemicals that has a startlingly positive effect on our system. What funny videos, tell jokes to your friends, play funny games with kids...A good belly laugh can give you a powerful cardiac workout that oxygenates your internal organs, leaving you energized and restored.

5. Jump on the trampoline Don't worry about your wobbly bits. just experience the unadulterated fun of making fool of yourself. Bouncing around might be not dignified, but it will certainly get you giggling. It is also a fantastic heart-strentghening and muscle-toning exercise. Just make sure that your trampoline have a safety net and it stand steadily on the ground.

6. Splash in the puddles Why worry ii your shoes get wet. Better yet, dot it barefoot. Rediscover the unbridled childhood pleasure of making a mess, getting dirty - and loving it.
I must say while on the road cycling towards the Santiago de Compostelle, on the last day, the only rainy day we past a village with wet cow pooh on the road that got us "muddy", so the only way to clean us was to cycle in to every large puddle on the road for next few kilometer's but oh my, was that fun...

7. Fly a kite It is both meditative and exhilarating pastime. When you have got a kite on a string, there is no reason to let a windy day keep you indoors.  Before gently tossing your kite into the sky with both hands, be sure to find a spot that is free from trees and power lines. Then enjoy the dips and dives that follow.

THE HEALTHY FLAXSEED & OIL

This beautiful blue flower is the flower of the Flax, also known Common Flax or Lin, so basically linseeds and flaxseed are the same. Linseed oil is very well know for the use to protect wooden furniture, it is non toxic and give a good protection even for the garden furniture that stays outside in summertime. But linseeds or flaxseeds are much more. They are very rich in omega-3 fatty acids and they also contains omega-6 and 9. Flaxseeds contain about 37% of fibre which is excellent for your digestive system, it will help your bowel system to be more regular. They also help you to lower your cholesterol levels. Flaxseeds are very good for constipation.

Some nutritionists, researchers, and scientists believe that it could be the most important health-promoting supplement next to a multi-vitamin. Nearly every system in the body can benefit from flax seed oil's natural properties, including the cardiovascular system, immune system, circulatory system, reproductive system, nervous system, as well as joints.

Flaxseeds come with two different colours, the brown ones and then there is a golden flaxseeds as well. The omegas that the flaxseeds oil contains comes in a good balance for 4:1 for Omega-3 about 59% and Omega-6 about 15%. It has also about 15% of Omega-9 fatty acids. The seeds contain lignans, that helps to keep a healthy lining in your guts and prevent cancer. These are release when you  keep flaxseeds in the water over night you will get this "slimy"thing around the seeds in the morning, it might not look very nice but this one part of the fiber that is water soluble and helps your intestines to heal and the rest of the fiber will help you to digest better. Regular use of flaxseeds and oil is beneficial for your health and it will keep your digestive system in good balance.  You can use flaxseeds in the morning muslies, porridge, and smoothies.
I use them in my morning smoothies and if you want all the benefits of them, put a two soup spoons of flaxseeds/ person in a luke warm water in a glass over night, just enough water to cover the seeds. As I told you, you will find a slimy thick water next morning, but it has all the goodness of the flaxseeds. So use this in your smoothie or mix it in you oatmeal. This won't add any bad or funny taste in your meal.

For the morning smoothie you need:

Fresh or frozen berries
honey
soya milk
flaxseeds that has been in the water over night

If you wish to add other ingredients like maca powder, ginseng or guarana powder or even pollen, all these you will find in a health shop.

Mix all this in a mixer and drink straight away. When drinking this slowly and biting the small bits and pieces in it you will help your digestive system to start working and this way you will get more benefits. Your digestive system can absorb better all the nutriments, when saliva has already been mixed in our mouth. This works with every kind of food, that's why we always should eat slowly and only eat small bites at the time.

What comes to flaxseed oil, use it in your smoothies
or you can also ad it to your French salad sauce. Here
is a way how you can make your own healthy salad sauce.

You can choose between vinegars and oils that you use.

Freanch Salad sauce

1 tea spoon of Dijon mustard
Vine vinegar, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
Olive oil or any nut oil
1-2 tea spoons  flaxseed oil
Glove of garlic
Shallot onion

Peel the onion and garlic, cut them in very small pieces. Take a small bowl and add your mustard in the bowl with 1 soup spoon of vinegar or lemon juice, mix it well. Then add 3 soup spoon of the oil of you choice (not your flaxseed oil). Alway try to keep you oil vinegar in 1:3. So if you want more sauce put 2 soup spoon of vinegar and the 6 spoons of oil. Add now you flaxseed oil. Mix well all together and add the onion and garlic. This is a best way to get a healthy salad sauce without any preservatives in it.

You can also find flaxseed oil capsules but I prefer to use the oil and seeds daily in my food. Just make sure that you will buy organic cold pressed flaxseed oil and organic seeds. It will be better for your health and for the nature too. A small green choice amongs of others...

Overview:

Flaxseed oil comes from the seeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum, L.).Flaxseed oil contains both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are needed for health. Flaxseed oil contains the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body converts into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil. Some researchers think that flaxseed oil might have some of the same benefits as fish oil, but the body isn' t very efficient at converting ALA into EPA and DHA. And the benefits of ALA, EPA, and DHA are not necessarily the same. Omega-3 fatty acids, usually from fish oil, have been shown to reduce inflammation and help prevent certain chronic diseases such as heart disease and arthritis. Studies are mixed about whether flaxseed oil is useful for the same conditions.
Getting a good balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in the diet is important. These essential fats are both examples of polyunsaturated fatty acids, or PUFAs. Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce inflammation, while most omega-6 fatty acids tend to contribute to inflammation. A healthy diet should consist of roughly 2 - 4 times fewer omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3 fatty acids. The typical American diet, however, tends to contain 14 - 25 times more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3 fatty acids. Many researchers believe this is a significant factor in the rising rate of inflammatory disorders in the United States.
Flaxseed -- but not flaxseed oil -- also contains a group of chemicals called lignans that may play a role in the prevention of cancer. Please see the flaxseed monograph for more information.
